Ban Khamin School was established on October 15, 1934, serving the local rural community. It has not changed much over the years. Currently, the school provides education from kindergarten 2 to grade 6. That’s 8 different learning levels. However, it only has 44 enrolled pupils, aged between 4 and 11.

Due to its low enrolment, the local education authority gives it very low priority. In keeping with our mission statement, Enhance is raising funds to help the pupils and the school in the following areas.

1. School Buildings and Facilities

The school buildings are currently in a deteriorated condition due to their age, having been established in 1934. Although some maintenance and minor repairs have been carried out, the school faces a significant budget deficit for the major renovations it needs to ensure long-term safety and a modern learning environment.

2. Playground

The playground equipment currently in use is old, damaged, and heavily rusted, posing a safety risk to the pupils. Despite the need for urgent replacement, the school lacks the necessary budget for this. The current equipment has reached a state where it is no longer functional or safe for daily use.

3. Computer room

The school currently lacks computers for student use, which significantly hinders digital literacy and modern learning. Ban Khamin School does not have an independent budget to procure computer hardware or software. We are entirely dependent on budget allocations from the Ministry of Education or private donations. As a result, our students have limited access to the technology required to develop essential 21st-century skills.

4. Employment of Contract Teachers

There are insufficient teachers to cover all grade levels; therefore, the school must hire additional staff. Since there is no official government budget for these positions, we rely purely on public donations to fund the teachers’ salaries. These contributions are essential to ensure that every classroom has a teacher and that our students receive a continuous and quality education.

5. Lack of Educational Materials and Sports Equipment

In addition to the infrastructure challenges, Ban Khamin School faces a critical shortage of educational materials, teaching aids, and sports equipment. Most of the current tools are outdated and/or damaged, which limits our ability to provide a well-rounded education. We lack the necessary resources to support physical education and modern classroom activities, both of which are vital for the pupil’s holistic development

Enhance is raising funds to help the pupils and the school. We have a modest target of just £5,000 per month. Every penny you can donate is gratefully received and used to benefit the school.
